When Rainbows appeared as Joanne communicated on the Mull of Kintyre 2004 - the 10th anniversary of Ian's death.

Excerpt from Out of the Shadows - Hodder Mobius 2005

"..................................I realised that I was happy to jump through all of those holes and enjoy whatever, whichever dimension had to share, despite the fact that I had been accused of a morbid curiosity because of my work with psychics and angel healers. I shared these thoughts with Joanne as we admired the peaceful beauty of a land that was so similar to where Ian and I had lived and loved. We were discussing her PhD studies into all manner of complementary therapies for cancer patients. I was amazed that there is such a plethora of research material illustrating the therapeutic effects of energy healing and touch for cancer patients. It fitted my personal research of the previous ten years. I knew now that anything that reminds us that we are capable of taking control of our own destiny with renewed passion and can call on assistance from within and beyond ourselves is very good. I knew that we were indeed on the right track. The spiritual and physical track can be very complimentary. I realised that I had come to see the intrinsic connection of everything on earth and beyond as one.

Yes I can hear the cynics now – “she’s lost it completely!” they will say. I know that when it is a person’s time to die, and usually not before, then they do indeed pass on to another dimension. There is a higher energy than us and the soul continues. We rarely die before our time, hard as it seems to those who are left behind to continue with their life contracts. There is too much proof, albeit non tangible, in the worldwide respected literature. The well- trodden track to visit someone who can let a relative know their deceased loved one is at peace is rarely discussed but it gives enormous comfort to thousands very quickly.

As we approached the single-track road at the end of the Mull we felt a real excitement, this being my first visit for several years. It was a gloriously sunny day with blue skies and a bitter wind blowing from the Irish Sea. We parked at the top of the hill and trekked down to the Cairn across the heather clad hillside. The Cairn had been built by Duncan Watson, at his own request, to commemorate all twenty-nine loved ones. We had not planned anything to do there other than to sit and see what happened. Joanne knew little about the crash as she had been only nineteen, ten years previously, and it had not featured in her own life at all.

I suggested to Joanne that we sit roughly where I thought Ian’s body had been found, above the Cairn looking across the sea to County Antrim in Ireland. As we settled it was not long before Joanne was told to move up a bit – he was there- telling us we were sitting in the wrong place. Typical!

So it was that on the twenty third of March 2004 almost ten years after the fatal crash I found myself listening to Joanne Maguire from Belfast saying words from another dimension. I just sat beside her and took notes as she listened and saw.

Once again, as in the castle in France, I could feel the electrical shivers come from her arm towards mine, only this time I saw something as well. I could actually see energy bouncing around in front of us with the backdrop of an icy cold blue sea. I will reproduce some

of my notes here, without personal names for privacy. I had started to see and feel a misty kind of aura over the whole mountainside as we sat down but nothing could have prepared me for what was to happen................................."
